MARILYN MANSON, DREAM THEATER, CHRIS CORNELL: First-Week Sales Revealed
June 13, 2007MARILYN MANSON's "Eat Me, Drink Me" sold 88,000 copies in the United States during its first week of release to debut at position No. 8 on The Billboard 200 chart. This is a significant drop from the 118,000 first-week tally registered by its predecessor, "The Golden Age of Grotesque", which landed at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart back in May 2003.
In other news, DREAM THEATER shifted 36,000 units of "Systematic Chaos" to enter the chart at No. 19. The group's last effort, "Octavarium" (2005),opened with 27,000 copies to debut at No. 36.
Former AUDIOSLAVE/SOUNDGARDEN singer Chris Cornell sold 37,000 copies of his latest solo album, "Carry On", to land at No. 17.
